FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our Complicated Pricing System: No charge for us to look at your case. We only get paid if the homeowner saves enough to justify our fee. If the client does not own the home yet, we do hold a deposit for the full amount, which we will not refund of the purchase falls thru, but will refund if the document will not save the owner enough.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Near Y2K, the ".com" era ended and with it my normal 60 hour work weeks with great pay and no time for family. After a few years of generating patents for an unfunded startup, I located the Land Surveyor I worked for the summer before Stanford with the objective of getting Elevation Certificates for 244 homeowners paying 600 each for flood insurance. He introduced me to Bruce Jahn, a California Professional Land Surveyor. Since then the equivalent cost for each homeowner has doubled, though most now don't need to pay anything: We got many of them Elevation Certificates, and then LOMAs. That roughly calculates to almost $300,000 per year!.... a great way to make friends.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Client does not think his home will flood and does not want to pay for flood insurance. If the policy is allowed to lapse, the Lender puts a far more expensive policy into force and add the cost to your loan. We analyze the situation, take any required field data, and generate the documents to minimize the cost of flood insurance: a LOMA, and Elevation Certificate, or a "sorry" letter. In the case of a LOMA we provide additional letters to get the best impact. In the case of the Elevation Certificate we provide extra documents and telephone support for the insurance company to get the best price your home qualifies to receive.
