Introduction: I have devoted my life to not only musical art-making, but learning how to learn. It is not enough to learn technique, you must know how to dive deeper into the learning process. I give my students the ability to help diagnose their own confusions/pains/roadblocks and teach themselves the other 6 days of the week when the teacher is not present. My favorite part about teaching is the unmitigated joy of student breakthroughs. Breakthroughs cannot be given, taught, or expected, and they are the most joyful surprise.

I havent played violin since high school but I wanted to get back into it. Suzanne has been incredibly patient and has really helped me remember how much I love playing violin. Our lessons are fun and she has given me excerpts that make practicing more enjoyable then ever.

I study every day, and am looking to get my masters in sound art this year.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was given a violin by my aunt, Alicia Svigals, who is a famous Klezmer violinist, at age 4, and I was hooked.
