Angel and his crew made two pillars and four below-ground concrete pylons as footing for a 4-legged gazebo to straddle a circular pavilion in my backyard. His crew also poured a 7’ x 2’ concrete slab in our side yard to function as a grill parking spot. Angel had car trouble the first day, which delayed the start of work to two days later than we had agreed on. His crew spread the work over three evenings, delaying another crew's start date for assembly of the gazebo by two days. The posted rate for Angel's work was $45/hour. When the work was finished, Angel presented me with a bill that would have charged $40 an hour for each of his crew's 5 laborers. Angel may be an engineer worth $45 an hour, but someone digging a hole for concrete does not earn $40 an hour, so we renegotiated. Angel received $45/hour, and each of his workers earned $20/hour. We declined to pay for hours when multiple workers were present, but only one of them was working, since the others were just waiting for Angel to arrive. In addition to wages and materials, we paid $150 for gas. Angel would have spent less on gas, if the work had been concentrated into fewer days, which I would have preferred. The end result is: the anchors are level. The two front pillars have air pockets as large as 0.5" h x 2.5" in the sides, indicating the cement wasn’t packed down well. (I will use filler to get a smooth surface, after which paint will be necessary to hide the filler.) The work started late, was spread over too many days, and the concrete pillars should not have the air pockets they have. On the up side, I appreciated how clean the worksite was when Angel finished. He also gave me a few expert answers to questions I had about other potential concrete projects. Angel is polite and knowledgeable. Even so, it is important to be very specific with your timeline, cost expectations, and aesthetics up front.

Roy adjusted the height of my improperly installed ikea cabinets, installed handles & knobs, installed ceiling fan and multiple light fixtures. He installed very tight fitting above range microwave which ultimately was defective, he removed it and helped me return it! Great job. Highly recommend him.

We are very pleased with the jobs that Dan & Lito did for us. They removed old carpet & wooden floors and then laid 1000 sq ft of tile, replaced the baseboards and then installed some gutters outside. They were always on time and left the house very clean when they were done. We will definitely find more jobs for them to do. They were a pleasure to work with.

The overall work looks great and we really love the quality of the turf. The communications with California Exteriors, Inc was very frustrating sometimes though and I was nervous to have young college guys working in our backyard while we were at work or out of town. Some advice on how to get rid of pet urine smell would've been useful as that's an issue we are learning to solve right now.

We hired Kevin Spencer to install thin brick on a garden wall. He gave me a solid quote from pictures and measurements. Kevin was able to do the job the same week and showed up as promised, on time and with an assistant to help. The project was finished in less than a day and looked exactly as we had envisioned. He kept things tidy and cleaned up the work site when he finished. I will use him again for the second phase to install the top wall cap. He was professional and did an awesome job.

Ron has done work at both my home and business. Tile work in our bathroom, which still looks good 10 years later, dry wall, drop ceiling, fence and he recently replaced our patio roof. He is honest, hard working and his pricing is reasonable. He is always the first person I call when I need a home improvement job done.

We have had the pleasure of working with Robert on several occasions. When we first moved into our house in Moraga, he installed ceiling lights, recessed lights and dining room chandeliers in several rooms. Subsequently, he installed outside low-voltage lighting, did the electrical work for our kitchen remodel and upgraded our panel. Robert has always provided us with excellent service at a very reasonable price. He is professional, yet very personable. He offers great advice and is dependable and accessible. I look forward to working with him again when we have another electrical project.

I have a wheelchair-bound client who was inuured as a result of the failure and collapse of a handicapped shower bench. Mr. Joswig was knowledgeable, thorough, responsive and prompt in identifying and reporting on the cause of the failure. I would recommend him to others seeking a construction expert. Chris Flint

I had Don and his crew remove a big pile (~25 cubic yards) of used bricks. They are super professional. Don made sure to text me and gave me updates on their schedule (because they had another job before mine). They got the job done on time and made sure to clean up everything nicely. Very happy with them.

About

My work stands out from others because I own and operate the company. I personally do the labor that ends up being the end result. I have noticed that when the owner of a company is present during construction and actually participates in the task things just come out better.
