Introduction: I am a UCLA alumnus with a degree in Vocal Performance and a current graduate student at USC for Vocal Arts Performance. As a voice teacher in Los Angeles, I use my knowledge and professional performance experience, as an opera singer, to help my students learn to sing with as much ease as possible while refining the instrument for the classical and musical theater repertoire. I not only focus on technique, but also diction, artistry, performance practice, and audition prep. My lessons are typically split between technical exercises and detailed work on the song of the student's choice. My philosophy is to use the Classical technique, as a foundation to help singers find sustainability and clarity in their sound regardless of what music they sing. All lessons are private, one-on-one sessions. It is best for teenagers and older, and those who are serious about improving their voice. I am a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing.

My granddaughter loves to sing. When I first approached Arianna about getting singing lessons, she hesitated, but then decided she would give it a try. Arianna is very shy, but with Sarabeth's approach to teaching, Arianna quickly embraced her singing lessons and always looks forward to them. Arianna describes Sarabeth as very nice and a really good singer. In a very short time, I can tell that Arianna's singing has improved and she's building confidence which is very important for young girl of 9 years old. I am grateful.

Sarabeth is highly competant and clearly understands voice. She is calm and patient never rushes. I have sang for decades and with many teachers. I found Sarabeth to be exceptional in her ability to produce my best tone. She had me sing each phrase and worked with me to refine and perfect the sound. My first lesson with Sarabeth was amazing. She made me feel comfortable, even on Skype, in no time. I can't believe we did so much in just 45 minutes. Sarabeth is incredibly knowledgable about the voice and took the time to make sure I understood concepts. It wasn't about just learning a song, she's teaching things that I can apply to performances for the rest of my life. She takes the time to listen (not just to your singing), she's patient, kind, and incredibly talented. I'm so excited for my next lesson!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Some music schools require the student to pay for the whole month at a time. I ask that each lesson is paid at the end of each lesson. This allows students to schedule on a weekly basis or cancel if need be. There is a 24 hour cancelation policy, if the student wishes to cancel or reschedule. If has been less than 24 hours, the student may be charged for the lesson.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first lesson is a analysis of what the student would like to work on and what I believe needs to be worked on. Students will start the lesson with a warmup that engages vocal technique that will help improve the quality of the voice. After the warmups, the student I will go over the song of the student's choice, applying the technique to the song. Throughout the lesson the student will learn music theory and performance techniques.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received my Bachelor of Arts from UCLA where I majored in Vocal Performance. Besides teaching, I perform professionally as a classical singer.
