FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Every project differs according to what vision is in place. There is no possible way to determine price until the vision is complete and I have a grasp on what is needed to complete the project. I always get prices of my materials before giving the client an estimate. My service fees depend on time spent planning, finding materials and actually doing the project. I can promise my rates are more than reasonable compared to what others are charging for the same if not less experience.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Meet customer and see the area they want done. Get their ideas and time frame for their project. If we are on the same page...then we discuss what I can do and I agreement is signed for services. No payment contract until I get all fees for materials and possible extras. When I present this, if agreed then payment agreement is signed. I do get payment for doing the research and work into getting quotes for prices and materials needed. Flat rate of $100.00, which is then applied to project.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I worked directly with an Interior Designer on Long Island, NY for many summers. I learned much and took classes in NY for design. As a psychology/ English major, I worked and was educated in Industrial Psychology, where we specifically worked on colors and patterns for productivity. I am always reading the most current updates on designing and new ideas. Every year I look for a class or two to add to my already knowledgeable base of colors, fabrics and furnishings.
