Mike gave a prompt estimate online, then arranged to vist the property and give a more precise one once he had seen and measured the site. He and his workers did three things: (1) he lifted up an uneven section of stone terrace, relaid the baserock, and reinstalled the stone pavers so they looked perfectly flat again; (2) they spread mulch in my woodland garden; and (3) they spread gravel on 1/3 of a mile of trails. Mike is polite and honest, and his workers were courteous and worked without my needing to supervise them much. They did make a few little mistakes (disturbing some drip irrigation stakes, covering some low growing plants with mulch), but these were relatively minor slip-ups that Mike endeavored to correct promptly once the issues were brought to his attention.

Mike did a great job! Fence looks awesome. We had some very specific requests that required some artistic skill. Mike and his guys came through great. Will hire again.

Front yard landscape and dry river beds. Mike has great design ideas and his team was very professional. The work was completed as scheduled. The attention to detail from beginning to end is excellent.

1. Provide weekly (and most importantly accurate updates to clients). 2. Follow up could have been better. For example, "I will send you th pictures tonight", "I will bring in the material for you to select tomorrow" but that wouldn't happen. 3. When a client selects the material and the material isn't available. Let the client know and provide options for the client to make that call. Assuming the client is okay with the alternative option based on personal opinion isn't acceptable. He did try to compensate for this by laying the pavers in a pattern which requires more effort (45 degree angle) which I appreciated. 4. Payment options changing throughout the job. Initially said it was okay to pay after the job, then asks for >30% down payment (at the time I didn't know about what's permissible by law and not), after which he asked for weekly payments. He took these payments when the projects weren't complete yet. 5. He comes of very defensive when you give him feedback and says "trust me you'll love it" even though I'm the one who is to decide if I love it. 6. We had minor additions after the project started and two anticipated issues (grading of land and level of the patio ceiling), but it should not have taken an extra 4 weeks to fix. 7. There was minimal progress shown in 8 weeks day to day but once we were close to terminating the project, he completed it in two days. I concerned about th quality given how quickly it was completed after not seeing any progress for 7 weeks. 9. After the project was complete the clean up job could have been better.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

    1. I think customers should consider doing research on there project before hiring a pro, just so they can get an idea of what the projects gonna cost and take to get done. 2. If your going to hire a professional make sure that they have verified reviews and are trust worthy. 3. I would consider getting whatever is promised in written form for your project and is clear and detailed. This will clear up any miscommunication and clarity of the project.
