Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Hello my name is Denis and I am an experienced instructor willing to work with all ages and abilities. I own a BM degree in guitar performance at San Jose State University and I am able to travel or teach out of my private studio. I've had master classes with luminaries such as Carlos Barbosa-Lima and Scott Tennant (Member of the L.A. Guitar Quartet) I focus on the classical technique but versatile and open to other styles as well. Lessons will include a thorough introduction to reading standard notation and tablature, basic technical form for both hands, and learning correct posture for beginning students. Intermediate and advanced students will have an opportunity to build on their skills and expand what you've already learned. Let's start a fun and exciting musical journey today! P.S. - During these trying times I am offering internet services as well. Be safe out there and use this time to learn the wonderful sounds of the guitar.

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

Guitar is something I've always loved to do and teaching one of the best ways to interact with it. My university professor from San Jose State landed me a job teaching at some local schools after graduation and I haven't stopped since. I teach mostly private now and really enjoy it.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Be patient in finding the right instructor. Chemistry is just as important as ability in most cases. Always find the best fit according to your personality and skill levels.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Teaching guitar takes patience and a touch of lighthearted goofiness as well. Balancing a serious approach with a sense of humor is important in any form of teaching.
