FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer weekly lessons at a discounted price. I also offer semi private classes as well as drop in lesson. Rates for drops ins are slightly higher.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I try to get to know the student first by discussing what their goals are for taking lessons. We come up with a plan and have him/her come in for an introductory lesson. We see if it's a good fit and if it is, then we discuss whether he/she'd like to come in weekly or bi-weekly. For each lesson, I usually start off with technique exercises to add their toolbox. The rest of the time, we work on songs or what we call repertoire. I also assign any books or references that would help them with their training.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was trained under the Certificate of Merit program for piano and was in almost every musical production I could audition for. I was also chosen as a finalist in a Talent Showcase in front of A list record labels. Hired at two music schools, I taught piano, voice, and dance lessons to all ages ranging from 4-adults. Simultaneously, I opened up my own music/dance studio which has been running for 11 years. As a teacher, I also take lessons in dance, piano, and voice so that I am up to date on my training in order to give the best to my students. I perform locally and abroad and have released an EP recently of my own original songs which I composed. I am an active worship leader at my church and perform jazz with a band and trio on a regular basis. I am currently working on my next piano solo album.
