Introduction: With over 10 years of teaching experience in the Boston and Chicago area, I have worked with many students ages 3-70 of diverse backgrounds and learning styles. I have had the pleasure of helping students achieve their goals by winning competitions and state auditions as well as helping older adults rediscover their love for music. I would love to meet you and hear about how you would like to have music in your life!
As a teacher, I use a mix of different methods that I've found to be effective over the years. This ranges from the Suzuki method to traditional conservatory training in the Russian and American styles, which I tailor specifically to the students' level and learning style. I emphasize an encompassing music education where lessons not only include technical practice and solo music, but also music theory, basic keyboard skills and ear training. I believe that these tools prepare the student to learn independently and understand any style of music when there is no teacher present.
This is a challenging time for all of us -- coping with financial constraints and emotional stability. I'd be happy to offer sliding scale pricing for those in need, please let me know when you send me a message.
**Currently, lessons will be conducted online due to the pandemic. However in the event that the student has a strong desire to have in-person lessons, there is the possibility of having sessions in a public space e.g. a park, while adhering to social distancing measures (masks on throughout, 6 feet apart). This is contingent upon my approval and the ability of the student to travel to a location near me.**
