FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always enjoyed taking pictures and telling stories. Its one thing to own a camera it's. It's another thing to have an eye for what helps the photograph and tell a story with that. I wanted to become better at that so I went to CSUN and earned a BA in film and minor in marketing. I learned the technical side in the film/photography and the marketing helped me learn what people are looking for. You have to listen to what your clients are looking for otherwise you will be shooting in the dark.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Weddings and portraits sessions are the majority of the jobs. I have a photo booth now and I get some work from that too. People love to ham it up in the photo booth with all the costumes. It is a real ice breaker for the receptions and you get great moments from your guests. They get printed out picture strips and you get a dvd of all who there having fun! Its a win win believe me.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
If you looking for a good wedding photographer, you should request engagement pictures. That way you will see how they work, how you look in their pictures, and if you are compatible with them on your special day. Remember you get what you pay for and everybody and their uncle have a digital camera in this day and age.
