Introduction: Being French does not necessarily make someone a good teacher, able to pass on the knowledge of the language. I have an Education degree from France, and I was a high school teacher near Paris for several years before moving to Los Angeles. I am still registered as a teacher with the French Department of Education (Education Nationale). I have been trained to apply efficient pedagogical methods, to structure different types of curricula, and to work with all types of students.
Whether you are a high school student struggling with homework or a retiree who wants to polish their French, my approach is to explain the logic of the language, because you can memorize better what you understand. I always try to provide you with the basics that will allow you to build your own sentences, and not only to repeat pre-made expressions. I also use a very wide range of material and settings to teach (literature, conversation groups, cartoons, sketches, grammar lessons, flashcards, games, writing workshops, mini-plays...). You will never be bored!
Most of my lessons are now online, but I also propose in-person sessions in the vicinity of Studio City.
