After getting a feel for my experience, José Jumped right into the lesson. He covered plenty of exercises and techniques to keep me busy until the next lesson. Recommended books have been very helpful. Looking forward to seeing how my playing improves.

Jose is seriously awesome. He’s not only an extremely talented and insightful instructor, but he also has a great personality that makes it easy to be comfortable right out of the gate. I’ve been taking guitarlessons with Jose for 3 months now after debating if I wanted to start lessons for a long time. I’m so glad I started!
Not only has my guitar playing come along very quickly in that time, but I’m actually starting to understand the theory behind what I’m playing. Jose is enthusiastic, punctual, and always more than happy to answer questions or demonstrate things if I need extra help.
His classes are organized and they help me understand what I need to work on next. Most importantly, we have fun and I have learned some songs I thought were too difficult just a few weeks ago! I feel like I can actually have fun while playing now because I can keep up with songs a lot better. I’m more motivated to play with every improvement now, when I used to leave my guitar collecting dust because I didn’t know what to do.
Virtual classes are super convenient, too! I wholeheartedly recommend lessons with Jose whether you’re new to music altogether or just new to guitar.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When I take on a new student, I like to know everything about them, not just their musical aspirations. I take a whole life approach for teaching my students. I don't just teach them guitar, I teach them how to approach music from all aspects of their lives.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been playing for 14 years, I went to 7 years of schooling in guitar and music theory. I got my Associates degree from the musicians institute of contemporary music in hollywood in 2016
