I teach bookkeeping (and all things computer-related for small businesses and solo practitioners) in a hands-on way that is practical, accessible, and tailored to my client's needs and understanding. This is not one-size-fits-all learning. I'm an intuitive, patient, creative teacher.
Not many artists or entrepreneurs go into business because they're excited they get to do bookkeeping. But with today's tools, bookkeeping can be pretty painless, and feeling like you're in control of your money is great ... I love empowering people this way!

On many occasions over the past five years, Amanda Burton has provided Individual and customized computer instruction for me and tech support (especially troubleshooting) for my iMac desktop and Mac laptop at home.
I made a transition from a PC and Microsoft Office Suite when I worked at UC Berkeley to all Apple devices at home when I retired. I taught myself the basics to use my Macs but had huge gaps in knowledge. I knew I was missing out on all the cool things one could do on a Mac and felt frustrated and well, stupid.
Amanda quickly figured out what I needed to know and broke our lessons down into manageable chunks. She is a superb teacher: she meets you where you are, sets reasonable goals, patiently walks and talks you through each step, answers all your questions, and is willing to explain processes in clear, easy to understand English. She NEVER makes you feel stupid or slow to catch on even when you feel embarrassed and klutzy. She is a patient and methodical coach, offering useful tips with lots of encouragement. She makes it fun and takes the fear out of learning. I have gained confidence in addition to computer skills.
Amanda is different from every other computer instructor I have had over the past 40 years. She really knows her stuff and clearly enjoys watching those "a-ha" moments when a student of hers has a break-through and finally "gets it!"
I've had quite a few Eureka experiences with Amanda and look forward to our next session.
She earns five stars -- and really deserves six if the rating system went higher. You will definitely get your money's worth in any class she teaches. I give her my highest recommendation, and encourage you to become one of her clients!

Amanda knows her stuff! In teaching me Quickbooks, she also taught me about business as a whole - how to organize a company, manage clients, run reports from various angles, and much more. She has some creative solutions and knows great workarounds. I highly recommend Amanda- she's awesome!
