FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our pricing is transparent and based on current Bay Area market rates, covering labor, materials, and project management in every estimate. We include a contingency allowance to account for any unforeseen conditions that may arise during the project. There are no consultation or estimate fees, and no surprise costs after a contract is signed. Any changes to the original scope are communicated clearly and handled through a written change order before work continues. C. Watkins Construction is a licensed, bonded, and insured general contracting firm. We price our work to reflect the quality, reliability, and professionalism our clients expect — and we stand behind every project we complete. We welcome the opportunity to discuss your project and find a solution that works for your budget and goals.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Our process is straightforward and designed to keep you informed at every stage. We start with an initial consultation to understand the scope of your project, your goals, and your budget. From there, we conduct a site visit to assess existing conditions and gather the measurements and details needed to build an accurate estimate. Once we have what we need, we prepare a detailed written proposal outlining the full scope of work, materials, timeline, and pricing. We walk you through the estimate so there are no surprises before anything is signed. After the contract is executed and the deposit is received, we handle permitting where required, coordinate all subcontractors, and schedule the work. Throughout the project, we maintain consistent communication so you always know where things stand. We do a final walkthrough with you before closing out the project to make sure everything meets your expectations and our standards. Our goal is a smooth process from first contact to final inspection — with quality work and clear communication the whole way through.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a California General Contractor license and have extensive hands-on experience managing residential and light commercial construction projects across the Bay Area. My background covers project estimation, subcontractor coordination, code compliance, and quality control across a wide range of trades. My experience as a Firefighter/Paramedic with a major California city has reinforced the same standards I apply to construction — attention to detail, accountability, and performing under pressure with precision. That background translates directly into how I manage job sites, assess risk, and communicate with clients. I stay current on California Building Code requirements, Title 24 compliance, and local inspection standards to ensure every project is built correctly and passes without issue. I continuously expand my knowledge through field experience, code updates, and industry resources to provide clients with accurate, compliant, and professionally executed work.
