Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: We heal the earth with cost-effective landscape and create living art. There are plenty of landscapers that plant the same thing over and over. If you are truly looking to stand out, give us a call. We use plants from Australia, South Africa and natives. We make our own compost using llama manure, mushroom compost and proprietary ingredients and create "Living Soil" on your property so your plants not only survive but thrive! Is there Magic in the world? It is in the soil. I enjoy meeting people, working outside and really love interesting plants.

I absolutely adore Brian Best's Garden Spirit. He did my yard several years ago when I had him remove all of my lawn and replaced it with drought tolerant plants. (WAY ahead of the new mandates & rebates.) The results are spectacular. My home was recently featured on a Garden Walk. I have had hundreds of compliments. Brian and his team work hard, are dependable, and can do numerous things besides planting. They added stone veneer, a paver driveway, and an arbor to my home. Brian is knowledgeable about all things drought tolerant and he makes sure that the plant selections are appropriate for the conditions. I have nothing but praise for Garden Spirit. Although it has been years since he did my yard, I keep his sign in front of my Loma Portal home so that others might contact him and benefit from his work on their yards.

It's been almost a year since Brian transformed our front and back yards and we still get compliments all the time. After an extensive remodel of our home our front yard was trashed and after years of struggling with trying to keep it green, we decided to call Brian. We had ideas of what we wanted but we just let him submit a proposal without telling him and it was as if he read our minds. His crew works swiftly and they always left things neat and clean. Brian uses organic soil amendments that really makes things grow well. The entire yard is like a self sustaining ecosystem. The landscape lighting is cool looking too. Some people have stopped to take pictures and I even found a lady stepping on my grass to see if it was real! We couldn't be happier with Brian and he KNOWS his plants. We highly recommend Brian and Garden Spirit.

I met Brian 2+ years ago at the SD Home Garden Show. Out of all the vendors I talked with, he stood out. He was easy to talk with...down to earth, sincere, and friendly, not at all like the others who were high pressure and quite expensive. I was an inexperienced gardener when I met Brian. I told him I wanted to be able to sit by my window and look out at a beautiful garden filled with birds and butterflies. Also, I did NOT want a lot of yard work to do! He accomplished that job magnificently and throughout the past two years I have called him back to work on other projects in my yard. For example, I have a very steep hill behind my house in University City. Brian suggested a "goat trail" on the steep hill so I would have easy access to the plants. Now I can easily walk the path and enjoy the shrubs and trees planted on the hill. My favorite project that Brian designed and created was the conversion of an in-ground spa to a tranquil quiet meditation space. When he finished the demolition of the spa Brian added a Buddha statue and soft down facing lighting to enhance the area. At night I can view the space from my bedroom. It is very comforting and relaxing before falling asleep. I wake up to birds singing every day. All the plants in my yard are drought tolerant, lush, and green and I water a maximum of 9 minutes total per week. I am so grateful that Brian had the foresight to think about the water issue when he planned my garden in 2013. His work crew is small but very hard working. They are friendly and polite. I got to know them very well when they worked at my house. The entire team is very knowledgeable about drought tolerant plants, irrigation systems, soil, lighting, etc. At the time they were working for me, they only worked at one address at a time so my projects were completed in a reasonable amount of time. At the end of each job, Brian spent time to help me to understand the particular details of each project. This has helped me a great deal now that I am actively caring for the entire area. Brian has an artistic sense that I find lacking in most landscapers. This creative talent makes his garden designs quite special. He has a way of blending a variety of sizes and species of plants and boulders, on undulating patches of soil, to create a beautiful pleasing environment. I am extremely pleased that I chose Garden Spirit to transform my backyard into a desirable happy place.

Brain is the expert's expert! He is knowledgeable in every aspect of landscaping from installation to maintenance. When he speaks about the plants he talks as if they were his children. My wife and I deliver our highest compliment to Brian and his team...we allowed them to use our backyard as a canvas letting them create whatever they thought best. The compliments keep coming. We owe it all to Brian and his crew. Also, ask him about his Lama and Mushroom Compost Poop! Our plants have doubled in size in less than a year. Our garden veggies are elephant size.
