Mayra was absolutely amazing! I booked her for a makeup trial and my girls and I were blown away by how fast she works!
I also booked her to do my wedding makeup/hair, along with 6 bridesmaids' makeup and hair. They all loved their hair and makeup!
Most importantly, Mayra made us all so comfortable and we loved talking to her too. She allowed us to explore different styles of makeup and hairstyles. If you want a glamorous look or a natural look, Mayra can make you feel so beautiful for your special occasion! I would love to book her again in the future!

Mayra was INCREDIBLE! We hired her to do hair before our wedding and asked her to set up at our AirBNB. She was not only so professional and friendly, but she also did an awesome job with the hair. All 8 girls were thrilled with the results. I would highly recommend to anyone in the future!

I called Mayra to help me with my wedding that was going to be in 29 Palms in April 2022. We switched plans on a dime and decided to get married on New Year's Day 2022 instead. We had just 3 weeks to prepare and thankfully the world stops on New Years Day so she was available to switch the dates.
The first time I talked to Mayra about the desert wedding I was immediately grateful. She was kind and genuinely cared about her role in our special day. Her congratulations and excitement were not perfunctory, they were heartfelt and I was aware of her deep care immediately and was so grateful that all my searches had led to her. Mayra is a loving, gentle, soul. You know this immediately when you speak to her. When you meet her you find a talented, present and engaged artist from that amazing space as well.
We did our trial just a week before the Jan. 1 wedding. We talked and laughed and bonded over everything. I am not a make-up girl. I am a wash and air dry hippie type for my hair too. None of this is a comfortable process for me. I always feel awkward and insecure with too much attention. Mayra assured me over and over again that if there was any time for this pampering it was essential for my wedding day and I would not regret it. When she was finished with my trial hair and make-up I was stunned. She transformed me completely but in the softest, most natural way I had ever seen myself. She literally brought my wedding day dream to life and I left that day knowing I made the best investment in myself for my wedding.
I got married in a beautiful, old home in Upland, CA that was build in 1906. The home had a dedicated dressing room so Mayra and I spent that time together. My nearest and dearest friends floated in and out of the room while we were getting ready. All of them loved Mayra immediately and we all had fun laughing and talking while she transformed me once more. The love of her craft and talent was a warm, kind blanket that held me for those two hours. I knew in my soul, she was delivered to me for this day and this time. She took care of my every need and even made sure to feed me while we waited upstairs for the guests to settle and the ceremony to begin.
I will admit, when you don't wear makeup, it's always a strange feeling when your make up is done because it feels like so much. For someone like me, lipgloss feels like overkill next to my tried and true chapstick. Having Mayra do my makeup however, felt like second skin and she truly adhered to my hope to be as natural as possible.
Hair: AMAZING. Makeup: AMAZING. The compliments and accolades never stopped, the entire day from my friends and family. I never felt more beloved or beautiful in my life. We got our formal pictures back from our photographer this Valentine's Day. Our mouths dropped. Mayra said the makeup would really pop in the photos and wow, I could never have imagined something so exquisite. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE how amazing I look and cherish my photos.
Mayra is everything you could ever want in getting your hair and makeup done. Everything you could ever want in meeting and connecting with another person for any special event upcoming in your life. She has a heart of gold and literally the Midas Touch. So much so that I made sure she and her daughter stayed with all of my most precious friends and family for our wedding ceremony and reception. She is a gift.

Mayra did an incredible job for my wedding. I feel like I gave her a huge task by asking her to stylehair for 2 ladies and make up for 5. We were quite the chaotic group, but she was sooo patient with us. My bridal party, mother and I were very happy with the way we looked for the wedding. She gets an A+++ from us. I’d recommend her to all my friends and family.

Mayra is such a doll! She was able to do me, my mom-in-law and my 3 bridesmaids in just under 3 hours: hair, make-up, including false lashes and airbrushing. She's exceptional - even though we didn't have any trial session she certainly knew what she was doing. Everyone's really impressed and I got so many compliments about how pretty she made me look! I really loved working with her, she's such an incredibly sweet person, always had a smile on her face. She's very responsive with the text messages and is so accommodating. She made our big day extra special! Mayra, thank you so, so, so much. My heart just feels so warm thinking of that short time we shared, totally worth it having you there!! <3

Weddings on Catalina Island have a minimum fee: $300 plus the ferry ticket to get there $75. The $300 covers hair and makeup for the bride or hair or makeup for 4 bridal party members. We can accommodate up to 5 people for both hair and makeup.
