Diane has been tutoring my grandson for two years now. She has taught him to write and read as he was far below grade level when we began to take care of him. She provided sound strategies for him to develop study skills and she continues to work with him to catch him up in mathematics. Diane is a dedicated, caring tutor who is always on-time and prepared. My grandson would not have made it through 2nd and 3rd grade without Diane!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am particularly interested in reading methods and have been studying the Orton-Gillingham method which focuses on reading disorders.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always enjoyed working with children, beginning with child care when I wasn't even a teen yet. When I went to college I knew I would work with children, but the private tutoring evolved after my own children were born.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Most of my students are instructed in reading and math. Reading is so key because it opens the door to all learning and even math requires reading skills.
