My name is Brandon King and I’m the artist and owner behind Theotus Media. I provide several different photography services such as event, portrait, sports and lifestyle to the greater Southern California area, primarily in Ventura and Los Angeles counties. I am also available for travel work.
I have a BA in digital media and have been dedicated to perfecting my craft since starting my business in 2017.

If you are looking for a professional photographer in the LA area, we highly recommend Brandon (Theotus Media). I was planning a surprise engagement and Brandon was responsive to my requests and needs, and he offered amazing suggestions to help me fine tune my plan. As it was a surprise engagement, Brandon went above and beyond to arrive early and scope out the area. He stayed hidden as to not ruin the surprise and captured this very special moment for us. After the proposal, Brandon took photos of us at sundown and was meticulous with positioning, posing, and lighting as the sun went down. Brandon is energetic, enthusiastic, and truly channels positive vibes. It was a blast to work with Brandon and he made us feel comfortable through the process. He checked to make sure that we weren’t missing any specific photos that we had hoped for. We were thrilled and extremely pleased with the final photos. Brandon captured the biggest moment of our (my fiancé and I) lives in a masterful way. He is personable, charming, creative and very punctual. We worked together to plan out the perfect place and time to capture me proposing to my now fiancé. He was very kind and was able to make this journey stress free. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually take the time to find out what style of photos that the customer likes. We then figure out what exactly the customer needs the photos for. We then determine what type of style the customer can see themselves in by talking about potential locations. Following location discussions we get into details and specifics. Every single shoot is a full on collaborative effort that starts with a conversation.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
BA in Digital Media Arts.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I’ve had a passion for photography since the late “2000’s”, was gifted a camera in my preteen years. Purchased my first DSLR camera in 2014, after graduating from film school in 2015, I moved back home and began photographing everything I could. The beach, people, palm trees, any downtown area, etc. My love for the art continued to bloom. Got a little more serious about starting a business in 2017. And now here we are in 2022, and NOTHING brings me more peace then connecting with others through creating beautiful portrait work.
