I'm Yana — a documentary and fine-art photographer based on the coast in Pacifica, capturing authentic engagement, elopement, family, and maternity sessions across the San Francisco Bay Area.
I've been photographing couples and families across the world for over 10 years, with 100+ sessions behind the lens. My background is in fine-art and documentary photography — formal training that shows up in how I see light, composition, and the honest, unposed moments that create the real magic.

Yana was amazing to work with despite a lot of requirements on our end. My toddler is very sensitive/reactive and Yana dealt with that amazingly. She was flexible, kind, and based on the photos, extremely talented. We are so happy we went with her, and I will cherish these photos for the rest of my life!

I must have interviewed and considered at least 20 different photographers for my surprise proposal, but ultimately went with Yana in the end due to her expertise and familiarity with the local area which helped us find the perfect proposal spots that was private and romantic! Other sf photographers would not know these spots like that.Other very strong factors included her ability to shoot non-basic posey type proposal photos that everyone has which can be boring, her shots are more in the moment like a mini-documentary!Her flexibility and familiarity with shooting in unpredictable weather helped since the area was usually foggy and it's good to have a photographer who can handle fog actually take advantage of it.Overall she was great at planning and logistics which made it easier to plan a surprise proposal.We love all of our experimental photos and definitely will have a proposal experience that we can say is unique to us!
