FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I quote by the part. I don't have an hourly rate really. That is factored into my quotes. I have reviewed projects over the years to calculate time to complete parts...parts that were actually made and used. I am negotiable and will try and work within your budget. Once I know the scope of the project, after meeting or having conversations, I can give a more realistic quote. It is hard to quote without knowing what is needed.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
People with their own ideas or inventions, who would like to manufacture them, need certain documentation and an outline of the steps needed to accomplish the production and get it to market. This is what I do...mostly. I do not do any marketing. I do not have large manufacturing facilities. What I do is take their hand drawings, homemade prototypes, etc. and create professional CAD models and drawings for Copyrights, Patents, etc. These are also used for the Manufacturing shops to produce working prototypes and any tooling, or sometimes molds, that are needed for production. I also help outline, coordinate and manage the project up to production.
