I had been exercising for about a year now by myself but decided to hire a trainer. I've been working out with Vinny for two months now and my body has changed more in the past two months than in the past year. Vinny has taught me from basics: how to breathe correctly during my exercises, proper posture, how to target and isolate certain muscles.. to kickboxing and self defense. Vinny is the type of trainer that will go the extra mile and help you achieve your goals. I def recommend him.
I've been training with Martin for about two months now. I have about a year background in martial arts. I really enjoy all of the different mixed martial arts he's been teaching me. Not only are they fun, but everything he teaches I believe is highly effective during a confrintation on the streets. The combination of kickboxing, Lima lama, and Kung fu, and other martial arts equips one for the many different scenarios that may take place during a street fight. He breaks everything down in complete detail, step by step. I highly recommend Martin if you are interested in self defense.
I used to train with Mike, kickboxing and bootcamp. (I stopped when I got pregnant with my second child). He is the only fitness advocate who has EVER got me excited about working out! In fact - I was obsessed with it at one point! His enthusiasm and passion for what he does transcends in his training style. He is very personable and genuinely caring about your goals. Marcus has been my trainer for almost 4 yrs. My initial goal with him was to learn kickboxing as a beginner. During this journey, Marcus has taken me beyond any goals or aspirations I had imagined. He has expanded my learning from just kickboxing techniques to cardio and strength training. I am not a fighter; I take kickboxing lessons to learn something new. Let me start off by saying, that taking Inez's kickboxing class is not for you just to get in shape physically. Her class helps you mentally and emotionally as well. I have been taking this class for 4 years now and will continue too. It has changed my life in so many ways. In order to have a good life you have to start by helping yourself. I take a self-defense/kickboxing class with Jorge twice a week. He's an amazing instructor, able to teach practical self-defense and kickboxing concepts while giving me a great workout! When you hire a trainer, you're motivated to lose weight for the first time, put on muscle, or rise from the ashes and return to your former glory. I personally was the later and would not been able to hit my goal without the help of Matt. He was able to help me get results, keep me motivated, hold me accountable, and completely shift my perspective on health and wellness. I love this dojo! its clean, fully equipped and matted. Not like some others schools in the area that just train on carpet and use hard flooring. Blisters on the feet from carpet burns are not fun. Duarte Shotokan teaches Real Karate from a traditional lineage and it is a safe place to train, especially for kids. All the instructors and assistants are very kind and caring too. I have been in class for a few weeks already and I love the intense workouts and practical self defense lessons that are taught. I would recommend Duarte Martial arts Academy to anyone looking for a fun, safe and caring dojo.
Lalee is great! He pushes you to your limit but not beyond. You will hurt the next day but it's a good hurt. He is on time and very professional. Gives encouragement the entire session and is always positive. He checked on me a few days later to make sure I was ok. I loved how good I felt even days later. Best decision I have made for myself in a long time. Highly recommended.

i am a 62 year old CEO. I am also in awesome physical condition, look 20 years younger than my age, and am confident in all areas of my life. I believe the training I had with Tim made a huge difference in all of these areas. I started training with Tim as a brown belt. Four years later I earned my black belt with Tim. The truth was the brown belt I had was worthless. I could not fight. Tim trained me to fight, to get in shape, and to be able to defend myself. Tim moved away from Houston (where I trained with him) to LA about 6 or 7 years ago. However, the training was so well done, I still continue my practice and am in great shape. I been training with jasper for over a year, initially my goal was to train with him for 3 months to lose 5 pounds of body fat, get more toned, build upper body strength, core strength, build my endurance and cross train for my figure skating. I was able to see huge results within 2 months and I decided to continue to train with him. There is no price on the value of knowledge I learned from him and about my own body. Not only did I get past my goal but I also learned how to defend myself with his professional knowledge of kickboxing and martial arts. I feel more confident, stronger, faster and healthy. I have worked with trainers in the past but I was not able to gain such high caliber results this fast. I can't wait to see where I'll be in the months to come!
We teach Muay Thai (Thai boxing). Muay Thai is an ancient Thai martial art of self-defense. It is the most effective and proven methods of using all parts of your body such as fists, elbows, knees and feet to be your defending weapons. Anybody, from the age of 5 to 60 years old, boys or girls, men or women, can join this unique training for self-defense and fitness. Our philosophy is to teach students self-discipline, self-confidence, respect and patience, as well as to develop body coordination, speed, balance, endurance and grace.
We have a strong kids' program divided in 4-8 years old and 9-14 years old. Those over 15 years old start our adults' program, although our kids' program is huge. It is still half of the academy, and our adults' program is great because we do offer a curriculum for beginners and more advanced people. We welcome everyone. Out of shape? Non athletic?
