- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My field seems to change by the nanosecond! Staying on top of it all is critical and so, yes, I am constantly rolling up the sleeves; putting on my reading glasses; honing the design chops. From SEO to website platforms to simple website design trends, and of course, social media - there is always something new to learn - daily!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I design Wordpress websites, (which are quickly becoming an industry standard as the community of loyal wordpress designers continue to build a fabulous blogging and website CMS platform). CMS, Content Management System, is a web platform that gives the control to the website owner. No need to hire a programmer every time you need to add or remove content from your website!
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
When it comes to a Website Design/Build it's important to strike a favorable balance between the 'building' (coding) and the designing. I see many sites that are built efficiently, (the code is structurally sound and attention to SEO is applied). but lacking in design and an overall smart look; and then, of course, beautiful 'flash'driven websites that are decidedly a bad choice for SEO, (Search Engine Optimization). Flash websites also take a tad longer to load, and worse still, the website owner has no easy way to manage the website on his/her own. In terms of the branding of one's business, finding an enthusiastic designer with fresh ideas, willing to think outside of the box will make all of the difference. If you wish to work with a particular designer who may not seem to have the same style as you, it doesn't mean that the designer can't provide. Often, the challenge makes the work that much more interesting.
