Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I treat each client as a peer and a partner. We are in business together and it is just as important to me that your company or project image and story is conveyed in the manner and quality I would want my own story told. I consider myself a team member, not merely a consultant. About half of the time and energy expended in running Ascension Studios involves tracking and testing new and useful technologies for the industries I serve, and the other half is spent implementing these new methods to put my clients ahead of their competition. I'm excited by technology, and I love exploring new solutions for existing problems in creative ways.

As an architectural firm we have enjoyed working with John Shulters and Ascension Studios for several years. His ability to create exciting 3D animation of our projects has been excellent. John is an asset to our Team, fun to work and provides a much needed service in a timely manner.

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I not only regularly attend the major industry related conferences each year (e.g. SIGGRAPH, CES, AU, ASAI, AWE, E3, GDC, WTZC, etc), but I also teach masterclasses at many these conferences to share the knowledge and expertise specific to what I do in production on a daily basis, as well as some of the new and emerging tech areas in which we perform a great deal of R&D.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Look for someone who understands your industry and your audience in particular. Also look for an artist that approaches the work with a focus on the content and the story being told, not just on the tools needed to get the job done. And don't be scared if you don't yet see "your project" already sitting in someone's portfolio...we are all looking for new and interesting projects that expand our expertise and challenge us to push ourselves into new areas.
