I hired Terry about a year ago to install a security camera system at one of my commercial properties. Terry talked a big game and gave me the impression he was qualified to handle a project of my size and scope. However, it turned out to be way over his head and it was extremely challenging to work with him. He ran way over budget. Had I not been managing the project and spending countless hours of my own overseeing things I dont know that it would ever have been finished. He built a "custom" system and set himself up, with out ever discussing with me, as the "system administrator" who controls all the passwords etc. and even now has access to all my security equipment and will go on there and entertain himself and watch the action on my cameras. He would show me all these other feeds on his phone of other systems he had set up which he still had access to. I would like to have someone take over the system but as I indicated it is a "custom" system designed in Terry's likeness and it would be very challenging to bring in an outsider at this point who isn't well versed in Terry's idiosyncratic "custom" security systems. Not to mention he is challenging to reach, will take several days to get back to you and I am not sure I could even reasonably obtain all the passwords etc from Terry I would need at this point to accomplish this. Terry made big promises that one of the reasons to use him was I would be getting a person to not only set up the sytem, but to service the system as well. The cameras will disconnect quite regularly. In the beginning Terry would trouble shoot the issue usually after several days but eventually he has become less and less available to the point that now he completely ignores my requests and we have had one of our main cameras down for a couple months. Also, we have had several incidents where the police have asked for video footage but I am unable to do this despite spending almost 10k on the system.
If your goal is a small home security system project or other interesting small electrical challenges then you're probably ok hiring him, but if its for a larger scale, more sophisticated system I would highly recommend looking elsewhere.

Terry was very professional and reasonably priced. He knew I was under pressure to get our 6 Business Operations Center monitors up and running in two days and he came through. He had to review our wire plan and make adjustments because the original installer did it wrong. I would recommend him because he was looking out for my interest and not his. Thanks Terry!
