Patricia Rynkun is exemplary. We engaged Patricia as our design consultant on three separate occasions - two large home renovations (two different homes) and a large office renovation - and her attention to detail, creativity and great skill with space, colour, lighting and fabric achieved fantastic results that exceeded our high expectations. We greatly appreciated Patricia's timeless, classic style, great ability to marry beauty with function without sacrificing either, and her technical skills, pragmatism and enthusiasm to work within a budget and still achieve fantastic results. Patricia was especially effective at getting us substantial discounts on items we purchased. When I moved into my house, I was in love with it. It was dated, but I couldn't have imagined it looking any different. After a few years a pipe burst in my upstairs bathroom causing major damage to the bathroom, and the kitchen below. We needed the work done right away. I fully intended to put everything back the way it was. A friend of mine had used Patricia for her kitchen and loved her. I called Patricia and she came over the next day. She came with her computer and all kinds of possible ideas. The whole process was foreign to me, and a little overwhelming. Patricia was confident in her designs, and very reasonably priced. I had always heard kitchen and bathroom renovations were expensive, so I was a little worried. Her ability to grasp my taste (even though I wasnt really sure what they were) was amazing. She made my bathroom seem twice as big as it was before. She suggested a pocket door to allow for more room inside. I had never heard of such a thing. She managed to make the bathroom blend with the rest of my untouched house, so that it all looked like it went together. In the kitchen, the idea of moving a wall in an already established lay out was hard for me to grasp. Patricia was patient with me as I tried to get my head around it. In the end I just had to trust her, and I am so glad I did. Everyone wants marble counter tops and expensive finishes, but most of us cant afford these kind of things. Patricia suggested cost effective ways to make my kitchen look like a magazine. I loved my house before, but now I am never moving. I would highly recommend Patricia to anyone who need a kitchen or a bathroom.

Patricia assisted me with my complete house remodel. She so so knowledgeable and had great insight with layout and design. She was able to assist me from the very beginning when we were in the planning phase. She was able to understand the look I was going for. She corrected some layout designs that the cabinet maker and another designer that I had been working with. I am beyond appreciative that she picked up where they had missed the details. She assisted me every step of the way down to fine decorations. She was very easy to work with and was always available to me and returned all my text messages and phone calls promptly. I would recommend her without reservation! My home is now complete and everyone that comes over thinks it's a model home. Thank you Patricia for all of your attention to detail.

Patricia is a full service designer! She designed and decorated our entire house including selecting paint colors, flooring, furniture, knick knacks, bedding, the entire works. Patricia got to know our style and preferences and made spot on selections! She even made some suggestions that we would have never picked out ourselves and we absolutely love them! Patricia truly created a cozy environment that speaks to us. I would absolutely recommend Patricia!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I typically charge per hour but once I get more information on a project (especially if longer term) I can estimate the time it will take for my scope of work and I provide a fixed price estimate with detailed information about my services.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I meet with a client at their home and assess the space they want to work on. I always give them my initial design thoughts and ideas to make sure we are on the same page so they feel confident in my abilities. After the initial consult I either estimate the number of hours it will take (on a smaller job) or send them a design fee proposal within 48 hours outlining my exact scope of work.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied interior design at Sheridan College in Oakville, ON and have 10 years of experience working in commercial interior design and architectural firms. I also did freelance residential projects the entire 10+ years because I also love residential design and wanted to have experience in every field! Now I freelance full time and couldn't imaging anything better!
