About

Hi! My name's Corey Townley. I am a music instructor serving San Clemente, Rancho Santa Margarita and surrounding areas. In my opinion, everyone should play a musical instrument. Since you can't have music without rhythm, allow me to help you fulfill your musical goals. I have offered private drum and percussion instruction for over 23 years in South Orange County with about 50 students currently under my wing. Whether you are playing in school, in a band or just for fun it is my goal to help you excel. Here are some examples of what you will learn: -drum-set (rock, jazz, blues, Latin, double bass, etc...) -how to jam with other musicians -correct technique -rudiments -your favorite songs -drum-line -note reading and writing(not just tab) -stick tricks/showmanship -quarterly rock recitals! Now offering beginning guitar and bass lessons. Corey works with students age 5 and above and is one of the most popular instructors in the area...just ask his students and their parents!

Corey is so kind! He’s a very encouraging teacher, and great if you’re looking to get started and casually learning drums/guitar for fun. I see myself improving a lot as I continue taking lessons with him 😊 He is fun to be around and an enthusiastic teacher!!

Corey is a life saver. Not only is he teaching my family to play drums but he also put together our brand new drum set in about an hour. It would have probably taken us 8 hours. He gave us plenty of tips and tricks and is an amazing teacher and drums player
