I had Joel Dj my daughters Sweet 16 party in October. He did an amazing job. My two daughters said all the kids kept saying how great the Dj was. We now hired him for my work party in December. We have also given his number to a couple kids from my daughters party, who want to have him Dj for them.. Thanks for a job well done Joel! See you at the Christmas party! :)

Joel reached out to me on Thumbtack with a bid to be our DJ just 2 months before our wedding, and I'm glad he did! His pricing was very reasonable, and our ceremony and reception were a huge success in large part to him! For our ceremony, the transitions between the music selections were seamless, and his choices fit the mood perfectly! For our reception, Joel played the part of both DJ and MC, and performed them fantastically! We had given him just a handful of songs we wanted to hear, leaving the rest up to his discretion. He did a great job of reading the energy of our guests and playing what was appropriate for the moment! He had no problem getting everyone out onto the dance floor to have a great time! As for MC'ing, he had great energy and did a wonderful job of keeping us on schedule and the room alive! Communication was great, too, both while planning the wedding, and during. He was very detail-oriented throughout the entire process, leaving no crazy surprises. Overall, Joel provided a great experience for us, and he will definitely be the first person I reach out to the next time we need a DJ!

I hired Joel for my daughters Sweet 16/Halloween Costume Party and he did an excellent job! Prior to our event, he stayed in contact with me and was easy to work with. He was on time, had an easy set up and I was impressed with him remembering things that I had suggested for the party as far as certain lighting and music. He was great with the kids and importantly, he held their interest and kept them on the dance floor. His skills and great personality was what I needed for my daughter's party to be a success. Short story to tell, haha...I just recently went to a different party and of course, I compared their DJ to my DJ. Joel and I must say I would definitely hire Joel again. Great Job!!

I used Joel to DJ my wedding, he showed up on time and did an amazing job playing my songs and mixing other music to keep the crowd upbeat. He stayed the whole time and even a little later until the event winded down. I would definitely use Joel again!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to get to know the client as much as I can with at least several phone calls or emails before the event. It helps me get a better feel for exactly what their needs are. In most situations im hired for very special occasions and I want to be certain to have the perfect music!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, every year I attend several DJ conventions and participate in the workshops to further my developement in my field.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
After singing in a band for years, I still had a desire to entertain. I learned some DJ skills by spinning at local college clubs, and I've been doing it ever since!
