Introduction: While I did take a web/graphic design school program, my degree/background is actually in music. I've mainly taught myself a lot of what I know or have otherwise learned on-the-fly and from observation. Because of this, I feel I have a unique style and design ideas from others who went to school solely for web design. I truly love web and graphic design - especially web design because it is ever-changing, and there are always new elements/ideas/technologies to learn. I love the variety of work I get to do and look forward to different types of projects. Most importantly, I have a lot of great clients I've bulit good relationships with, and it makes my day to know that I've helped good people/businesses to succeed.

I hired Janus Design to specifically help finish my WordPress website and get it online ready. What I got was so much more than that. Let's just start with the fact that Janus Design is local and flexible. Meaning Chris is set up and willing to work with you in person, online, or through email. He has the capacity to provide help and services to you at your level of need. I was/am blown away by not only his professionalism, but his way of breaking things down to my understanding. I have never encountered a "techi" that was able and willing to not only explain things on a basic level, but provide backup step by step instructions of any and all services provided in email format. You can't beat this. His knowledge of WordPress (thus his specialty) far exceeded any expectation I had and trust me this is just a niche area, not the sum of his work. What impresses me most is speed of return on any corresponence or job I've given. It seems he schedules himself like most in the business world. (9a-6p) taking weekends off. Which shows me his time management is right on point. Although, if you have a pressing job, he's going to be very clear on what he can do and trust me, it will be done. Weekends included. So refreshing from other tech experiences I've had. Clearly he is professional and takes his business seriously. He takes the quality of his work very seriously, which you will see by checking out his site and various projects. He is extremely reasonable and did not bill me for any portion until the job was completed to my satisfaction. Any of you who have had previous dealings with tech personnel, re-read the last line, it's huge. Chris Janus Design was a life savor to me at a time when another dropped the ball, but it was my gain. It will be yours as well. I only wish I had seen him on Thumbtack sooner.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I continue to read blogs and articles about the latest technologies and products in web and graphic design. Some things, like SEO (Search Engine Optimization), can change even weekly so it's important to stay up to date in order to continue to provide quality services. I also attend conferences and webinars whenever possible. I was a sponsor at the 2011 Reno-Tahoe WordCamp and look forward to attending more WordCamps in the future!
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I went to school for music but had a technology class which touched on basic HTML one class, and I was IMMEDIATELY hooked...running home from class that day to spend hours working on a little crumby page I put together....I loved it. I continued doing sites for fun and later made several sites for my and some friends' bands. It wasn't until several years later that I realized how much I truly loved web design, and I decided this was what I really wanted to be doing.

1. WordPress web design services including full custom designs & themes, plugin installation, theme customization, troubleshooting and custom programming. 2. Miva Merchant ecommerce web design services including full custom designs, troubleshooting, module installation, and updates. 3.
