Appellate Lawyer, Problem Solver
What do you love about your job?
I love being able to help clients solve problems, first and foremost. As an appellate lawyer, I am usually involved when things go very wrong for the client and they need to seek an appeal, or when they are facing an appeal filed by the opposing party. I am often their last chance to obtain a good resolution of the case. I love being able to help my clients without having to clear it before a committee of partners in my law firm. I also love in getting involved with cutting-edge legal issues in the appellate courts.
Describe your most memorable project.
I've worked on a few international child custody cases that were heartbreaking and very challenging from a legal perspective. Each of these cases has been incredibly memorable for me, especially the case I worked on involving a young boy who was abducted to another country by his mother at the end of the case. I think of his father often. It motivates me to do what I can to prevent this from happening to other parents and children.
