    Chef was absolutely amazing!!! He was extremely professional, skilled and relaxed while cooking for our event this past weekend. We are a pretty crazy crew of about 14 and the chef took us in stride and seemed to fit right in. We had a bruschetta appetizer that was so simple and tasty followed by one of the best grilled chicken Caesar salads I've had in a long time. Main course was a steak, asparagus and garlic mashed potato plate where everything tasted phenomenal. My boss can be very picky about his steaks and he was impressed with the flavor. Dessert was a cherry turnover with vanilla ice cream. Chef Jarrod paired each course with a tasty wine that complimented everything perfectly. His assistant was amazing as well. They made a great, cohesive team and it was a pleasure to have them at our event. I HIGHLY recommend this service for your small OR large event. You WILL NOT be disappointed by the service or food. Can't wait until our next event so we can hire Chef Jarrod again.

    Let me start out by saying that I was a little leery because Jarrod's quote was the least expensive of all of the quotes that I got, but don't' let the price fool you because we are so glad that we went with him .We had the pleasure of having Jarrod cater our wedding on October 18th. Jarrod and his staff arrived on time and they set up the wedding reception tables for us and they looked beautiful. I got many compliments from our guest about how nice the tables looked. We had a cocktail hour with 3 different appetizers served and we liked all of them. The buffet set up was nice. The food was hot and fresh and tasted wonderful. I definitely suggest that you try his wonderful pork tenderloin. Jarrod made sure that he had enough food for our guest to have seconds if they wanted. His staff made sure that our guest had their drinks filled and cleared the plates as soon as they finished. His staff was very friendly and did a wonderful job. Jarrod stayed after he finished with his cleanup of the kitchen until the venue confirmed that the kitchen area passed their inspection. I would definitely hire Jarrod again because he did a wonderful job and made sure that we were satisfied. Thanks You, J. and D. Hurley

    Unfortunately, I had to cancel this order. With 30 days until the event Jarrod said he would mail back my deposit, however he never did. I think my instincts we right in cancelling this order and going with someone else.

    Very impressive performance! Jarrod did everything he said he would do and then some. His grape juice brine soaked barbecued chicken was heavenly. His ribs were lip-smacking delicious. His quinoa and veggie stuffed spaghetti squash pleased vegetarians and meat-eaters alike. Jarrod is a thoroughly professional chef who deserves to be recognized.

    Wow! You won't be disappointed. From the moment he walked in to when he left, he was outstanding and very professional. I found Jarrod through thumbtack to surprise my boyfriend on his 30th birthday and we were highly impressed. We had 5 courses with wine pairings and everything looked beautiful and tasted delicious. He had an awesome presentation and everything was exactly what I had wanted for my boyfriend. Thank you so much Jarrod....we would love to hire you again!! And you will hear from us again soon :) p.s. we are eating the leftovers as we speak and still....WOW!!! Thanks again!!

    I used Jarrod for my husband's 60th birthday party in Napa, CA. I have never organized a party from 750 miles away (I live in the state of Washington). Jarrod made my life very easy. He was flexible, had great ideas and did a fabulous job. I would use him again in a minute!

    When planning our wedding my now husband and I were on a budget and paying for the wedding ourselves. We wanted as formal of a wedding as our budget would allow. We found quickly that a nice dinner was not going to happen on our budget... until we found chef Jarrod. He offered us what no one else was willing to. He went above and beyond what we expected. The food for our wedding was amazing. His staff was extremely helpful and polite. Apon the evening ending some of our guest were so impressed they asked for business cards for chef Jarrod. The quality of food and service is what we thought we couldn't afford. By far I would recommend chef Jarrod for any catering needs you may have.

    I used J. Faljean Chef Services for an event hosting 600 guests and volunteers, and I had a pleasant experience with both working with Jarrold and the food. Jarrold has catered this event for four years in a row. So many of our attendees LOVE the food. Jarrold is always very responsive to my emails and requests, and I had many requests as our attendee list kept changing, so he was very accommodating to all of our requests.He is a joy in the kitchen and always postitive!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I believe education is the key to success in the culinary world. If you stay stagnant, you'll never go anywhere.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always loved to cook, but it wasn't until 8 years ago that I decided to make a serious move towards becoming a chef. Since age 12, I have always been in a kitchen somewhere. Then I decided, I would go to school and make this a career. As I accumulate caterings and continue to work in this field, I find my passion for this line of work constantly growing.
What types of customers have you worked with?
The most common types of jobs are Buffet style services, and wine pairing dinners. I also do a lot of work for children's non-profit organizations.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
The most recent job i performed that made me most proud was the C.A.S.A annual crab feed where the number of attendees had increased by 110 people, from years passed
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
A customer needs to look at the over all value of a catering bid. The potential caterer may be a little higher in price, but what additional services are they offering, that the lowest priced caterer offers.
