FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing has some standard items in it, but I mostly craft the pricing based on the needs of my clients. Weddings may be simple or complex, even if identical in length of coverage, so I evaluate each event based on logistics, number of event/details to be covered and expected post-event service (editing, album design, etc.). Basically, a more complicated event will cost more because more work is required, and smaller events with fewer logistical needs are less. In my opinion, this is the most fair way to give my clients the best pricing.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I regularly attend workshops and conventions to stay up to date on the latest innovations in my field, and to continually grow as a professional and advance my skills and knowledge. I am a member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), American Photographic Artists (APA), and Wedding and Portrait Photographers International (WPPI).
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always loved the art of photography, and have been continually intrigued with cameras and producing images from a young age. It was always exciting to return to the photo lab after several days, to see what had developed from my film. Photography was a hobby, but I started pursuing it more as a means to document my work as a public school teacher, and later as a college instructor. Eventually, I transitioned to photography as a full-time career in order to spend more time with my family.
