Juaquin was a nice man, but I believe he is misrepresenting himself. He did not have the equipment, staff, or knowledge of products needed to refinish my hardwood floors. I did hire him, but did not want him to continue after the 1st day. At the end of the 1st day, He said, "I'm Broke," and requested a $500 advance. I agreed to 500 and he raised it to 600 on pay pal. I paid him $600. I texted him later saying I did not want him to continue the job. He did not have a business email, or license, that I could find on line. I don't think Alcarez Flooring is even a business registered to him. I could not find it. I have been given 2 additional estimates from 5 star Floors and Monterey Bay Hardwood Floors. Both Companies measured 50sf less than Juaquin, and quoted only $1,000 more for a professionally completed job. Juaquin quoted $5,000 , but could not provide a written contract. I hired 5 Star Floors, starting tomorrow. Juaquin rented a sander from Home depo and proceeded in hallways against the grain. You never sand against the grain! That was when I knew, he did not have the experience for the job. I would like to know how to get my $600 back? Thank you, Pam Patton 831 902 7210 pampatton200@gmail.com
