- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
There are hundreds of criminal defense attorneys out there but to get the best ones, look at their prior work experience and credentials. The best ones have prior prosecutorial experience. Wouldn't you want to have someone on your side that can think like your opponent, anticipate your opponent's moves, and can understand what arguments your opponent makes. If your life or loved ones liberty is at risk, make sure you hire someone who has years of practice, been recognized for their quality of work, and knows the criminal justice system inside and out. A top criminal defense attorney knows the legal motions to bring to exclude evidence, knows how to thoroughly investigate a case to establish a great defense, and knows the constitutional, legal, and persuasive arguments to make to convince a prosecutor and judge to dismiss a case. Obviously, every case is different and every case can't be dismissed, but an experienced criminal defense attorney will conduct all the necessary investigation and take all the legal steps to properly handle a client's case to try to obtain an acquittal, fair plea, or dismissal.
