Introduction: Hello, I am Tyler Stubbs. I help people (like you) live more fulfilling, active lives. I train many types of people, such as Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitioners, dancers, and ‘Average Joe’s who want to improve their mobility so they can perform better in their sport or FINALLY move and feel better. Felt before, why I chose him, and how I feel now I was what some people call "skinny fat." I didn't have abs and I was not overweight either and I constantly felt stick in this limbo between these two places. I felt lost because I kept reading online that I should try this diet and this workout and I was starting to feel hopeless and overwhelmed about what to do. I eventually chose Tyler because of his reviews and responses on his profile, as well as he simply listened to my frustrations during our first session without passing judgement or making me feel bad about where I was at and the different stuff that I have tried. After working with him for over 6 months now I can confidently, and finally, say that I am happy with how my body looks and feels! He convinced me to eat WAY more than I have ever before, I was terrified lol. But after a few months of doing his workouts that were focused on building muscle and strength and eating a LOT of food I started to see shapes and curves where I have not ever seen them before. Because of Tyler, I feel more confident when I work out on my own and when I go out at night with my friends. I am truly in a good place and would recommend messaging my trainer soon for anyone who is struggling with the stuff that I was struggling with!

I was the type to try diet after diet after diet and nothing seemed to work for me. Tyler listened to my story and understood how to help me and I’m glad I picked him! He pushed me every workout and was able to get a little more out of me in each session to help me lose weight. If you’re looking for a trainer to help you lose weight then look no further!

Tyler was my trainer summer of 2017. He has the patience and mastery to get the job done. I found him very familiar with the body. Specifically - muscle groups, joins and tendons. This helped to better understand my strengths and opportunities. He did a great job to communicate and keep me focused and consistent in my workouts. I would recommend him strongly for a personal trainer.

I have been training with Tyler Stubbs for about two months now and have never been more motivated, consistent and eager to workout. I decided to meet with Tyler after reading reviews from other customers regarding his knowledge on how the body works and after meeting with him I decided to go forward and train with him. He is encouraging, knowledgeable and pushes me harder each session. In the two months training with him he has created workout plans and meal plans tailored to achieve my fitness goals and the results have been noticeable since then. I look forward to more sessions with Tyler and will be using the knowledge gained training with him beyond our sessions together. I highly recommend him a for those looking to put on muscle like I am and make a lifestyle change!

(edited) I had Tyler as my trainer for almost 2 years before moving to the Bay Area a few months ago and I was really glad I chose him. His routines are quick but so effective. I could feel myself getting stronger and more confident. Training is not always about losing weight, getting buffed; Tyler showed me so many new things about joint flexibility, strength training, etc, which are definitely helpful outside of the gym too! I am now hoping I can find the 2nd Tyler near where I am now!

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    You have the option to do either a monthly plan or be charged per session. I offer a variety of programs and Thumbtack does not have the setup for me to display and explain all of them coherently so I prefer to discuss them in person because it is less confusing for you, the client. But I will say that my rates are around $85/hour.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    For every new person, we have an initial meet up where we discuss your goals, injury history, and past fitness experience. The session is meant to see if we are a good fit and get a baseline of your physical health. It is a no pressure, no future obligation session meant to help you get on track. I will do my best to meet you where you are at physically, emotionally, and psychologically, because this process is about what is best for you, not me. My goal is to help YOU get better and we will create a plan that fits your specific needs. Basically, we are going to chat, laugh, move around, and begin to create a program that will work for you

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    Qualifications: 1) Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Fitness specialist - Yes I have a four year degree where I learned about anatomy, biology, and the human body as a whole to give myself more knowledge and experience with handling the physical health of my clients 2) Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist - Basically, this experience taught me how to increase the function of people's joints. So if you have any physical ailments, we will be able to work with them and improve them over time. 3) National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer - Basically means that I'm legally allowed to do this 4) Nutrition Coaching Institute Level 1 and Precision Nutrition Coach - I have experience creating habit changes and macronutrient programs with clients to get them closer to their goals. 5) CPR/AED Certified 6) ELDOA level 1 certified - A certification on spinal health exercises and postures
