FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I use a piece of software called BlinkBid to generate my estimates. It's one of two programs that are considered to be industry standards. Pricing shoots is based on an extensive set of variables, but it really all comes down to how much time it will take to prepare, to execute, and to edit, and how much equipment and people are involved.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to speak on the phone as quickly as possible. It's an easy way to begin a new relationship and a good way to quickly get a sense of what my clients need and whether or not I'm the right fit.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm always in the process of networking, reading, and asking for advice. It's a necessary part of being a photographer. I also make it a point to surround myself with other photographers to be able to learn from them, whether it be about the technicalities or business of photography.
