Wardrobe Consulting

Carole was really fun to work with and she brought a lot more skill and insight to the job than I could have hoped for. The outfits that she put together met my needs perfectly; a great combo of style-appropriate and right for my body, but still comfortable and unique to my personality. I also really like her focus on sustainability, which is so important in today's fashion industry. Not only do I feel good about how I look, but my mind is a little more at ease knowing that I haven't degraded the environment or exploited people to get it. The next time I need any kind of style consultation, I know exactly who I'm calling. Thanks again, Carole!

Wardrobe Consulting

Carole was lovely to work with- she really got a sense of my style and how I was looking to change my wardrobe. Actually I was not looking for a whole wardrobe revamp- rather I was looking for ways to mix and match the pieces that I already had. She helped me see my wardrobe in a whole new light and taught me that I could combine pieces of my “going out” wardrobe with my business attire - all with a European flare. And she really shines when she puts together a highly curated shopping list of key pieces that I need to bring my whole look together. I was very happy with the final result and I hope that I can look as chic as the looks that she has put together!!

Wardrobe Consulting

I loved working with Carole! As a youthful looking 45 year old who struggles with fashion I needed some serious direction. Carole offered a mature and kind approach to our work together. She gave thoughtful input on my closet and ways to pair items I already owned while suggesting items that could be passed along. I also loved that she had sustainability at the forefront of her work so we could minimize the impact on the environment. Finally, I loved the European flair she encouraged, helping me broaden my pieces and include items I may have overlooked in my choices. I'm so pleased that I have mood boards with fabulous outfits I can put together each day. It has minimized my stress-level in the mornings and helps me feel confident in my choices.

I hired Carole as a Wardrobe Stylist for our luxury loungewear photoshoot. She is an absolute asset. She has a keen eye and an impressive knowledge of period clothing/costume, fabrics, accessories, and color. Carole was constantly attentive to the clothing, responsive to the needs of the models and the crew, and had on-hand, effective solutions to all issues. There were absolutely no delays with Carole. The clothes were always ready to go and looked amazing. She is flexible, friendly, and responds quickly to emails/texts. I would work with her again in a heartbeat. She brings a wonderful, warm, and professional energy to all aspects of her work. Thank you, Carole!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

We'll set a price depending on your needs and the size of your project, but typically most of my clients end up starting with a $500 flat rate intro package that buys 10+ hours of my time and includes: -A full personalized style profile covering your goals, body type, complexion, and existing wardrobe. -Inventory of your entire wardrobe, with recommendations of what to wear more of and what to give away -Visual presentation of 20-30 outfits from your existing wardrobe, -Shopping list of the items you need to complete your wardrobe, budget-sensitive and sourced from sustainable brands, vintage, and preloved whenever possible. Some projects are smaller and some end up continuing beyond the intro package with a la carte personal shopping or follow-on engagements. I'm here to make sure you feel totally satisfied and feel the difference. I'm also here to teach you how to do this yourself. Changing your style is something that accumulates value over time....you should feel it right away, but as you start to add pieces organically over time and try and own your own combinations, that's when it starts paying serious dividends.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

COVID has changed everything. Before it would be all in-person visits, closet inventories, and vintage + thrift store shopping. Now everything's online, but it works just as well. First we do a 30 minute free video call. We talk about your objectives and desires, your style, and your perceived strengths and weaknesses. Why do you want to change your style or wardrobe? How do you feel right now? Next I'll work up your personal style assessment and profile, including analysis of complexion, body type, color palette, and styles that may suit you. We'll use that profile in our remote inventory call where you'll lay out ALL of your clothes. We'll talk about each piece, photograph them all, and I'll incorporate all of that insight into a visual report detailing 20-30 outfits you can make from your existing wardrobe, often with certain new pieces from a shopping list that I'll provide, respecting your budget and sourced from sustainable, local, and preloved whenever possible. If you decide to go ahead and order the new pieces, we can do a follow-up session and talk about the new outfits, do some before and after shots, and talk next step. I'm available until your totally satisfied with your new direction and always open to continuing on an a la carte basis as your personal shopper and style guru. When the pandemic's done, we'll be able to do a lot of these things in person again!

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I've got 10+ years experience working in Paris in the film industry as a costume stylist and wardrobe supervisor, with the occasional fashion week / fashion house advert and photo shoot for good measure. I studied in England and earned a degree in Costume Design from the Arts University of Bournemouth in the United Kingdom. Most importantly, before San Francisco I lived in Paris for 10 years where I developed a sharp instinct for European street style and spent WAY too much time in vintage and secondhand stores.
