- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We'll set a price depending on your needs and the size of your project, but typically most of my clients end up starting with a $500 flat rate intro package that buys 10+ hours of my time and includes: -A full personalized style profile covering your goals, body type, complexion, and existing wardrobe. -Inventory of your entire wardrobe, with recommendations of what to wear more of and what to give away -Visual presentation of 20-30 outfits from your existing wardrobe, -Shopping list of the items you need to complete your wardrobe, budget-sensitive and sourced from sustainable brands, vintage, and preloved whenever possible. Some projects are smaller and some end up continuing beyond the intro package with a la carte personal shopping or follow-on engagements. I'm here to make sure you feel totally satisfied and feel the difference. I'm also here to teach you how to do this yourself. Changing your style is something that accumulates value over time....you should feel it right away, but as you start to add pieces organically over time and try and own your own combinations, that's when it starts paying serious dividends.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
COVID has changed everything. Before it would be all in-person visits, closet inventories, and vintage + thrift store shopping. Now everything's online, but it works just as well. First we do a 30 minute free video call. We talk about your objectives and desires, your style, and your perceived strengths and weaknesses. Why do you want to change your style or wardrobe? How do you feel right now? Next I'll work up your personal style assessment and profile, including analysis of complexion, body type, color palette, and styles that may suit you. We'll use that profile in our remote inventory call where you'll lay out ALL of your clothes. We'll talk about each piece, photograph them all, and I'll incorporate all of that insight into a visual report detailing 20-30 outfits you can make from your existing wardrobe, often with certain new pieces from a shopping list that I'll provide, respecting your budget and sourced from sustainable, local, and preloved whenever possible. If you decide to go ahead and order the new pieces, we can do a follow-up session and talk about the new outfits, do some before and after shots, and talk next step. I'm available until your totally satisfied with your new direction and always open to continuing on an a la carte basis as your personal shopper and style guru. When the pandemic's done, we'll be able to do a lot of these things in person again!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've got 10+ years experience working in Paris in the film industry as a costume stylist and wardrobe supervisor, with the occasional fashion week / fashion house advert and photo shoot for good measure. I studied in England and earned a degree in Costume Design from the Arts University of Bournemouth in the United Kingdom. Most importantly, before San Francisco I lived in Paris for 10 years where I developed a sharp instinct for European street style and spent WAY too much time in vintage and secondhand stores.
