FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I typically prefer to talk to clients prior to pricing a project. There are many variables that contribute the the final price of a design process, so I like to take a few minutes to chat about the project goals, budget, timeline, size and complexity. With that said. I typicslly propose an hourly rate for each project. After discussing the project goals and the required deliverables, we can accurately guess the number of hours needed.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
An initial in-person meeting can be a great place to start, with a preliminary site walk through, and outline for your project goals. The meet and greet will let's us get to know each other, and really help us best understand needs. We can also provide a design profile form, that asks you a number of thought provoking and informational questions. Please feel free to request this.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Studies include sustainable building, community planning, and high quality architectural design at the University of Oregon. Many years before that were spent building residential homes, providing valuable insight on construction methods and thoughtful design. Currently we work with a timber frame manufacturer as a specialty systems designer for exposed timber systems. Though this is not exclusively what we do, it has certainly added a wealth of experience to our process in working with you.
