Taking Holman Turner's class helped jump start me into creating a viable business for my photography. His detailed explanation of what goes into a billable hour painted a true picture of what is needed to succeed. An added benefit to the class was listening to Holman's stories, based on his experiences - both professional and personal. He is a true gift to the art of photography.

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. The first thing I would want to know would be: Is the information given specific to my field, or does it simply have general application? Can you provide me with testimonials from past participants who have studied with you? How large are the classes and will I be able to get individual attention?

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. The first thing I would want to know is: What part will a strong portfolio play in my success? How long should I expect my start-up period to be under ordinary circumstances? What funding will I need?

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. What experience do you have in addressing and training photographers and other artists on how to launch and succeed in photography and other fields of art?

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Where do I start - I feel so fortunate to be doing all of the things that I truly love such as photography, teaching, and writing. And as much as I enjoy creating beautiful photographs, I find that I enjoy helping to create successful photographers and other artists just as much! What more could I ask for?
