FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All California attorneys are required by the State Bar to complete continuing education requirements in order to maintain their license to practice law. I also am actively engaged with the local attorneys' Chapter 13 Committee in the San Jose area, and an active member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA).
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I hate bullies. I never wanted to represent big corporations, banks, credit card companies, insurance companies, or any of their lot. I wanted to represent David, not Goliath. Consumer bankruptcy for debtors only (we don't do creditors' work) is the perfect legal practice for those of us who live to fight bullies and be a thorn in the side of big money interests. Our clients are honest, hardworking people. I am proud to get them out of debt so they can get a fresh start.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Getting individual consumers out of debt so they can start over and get ahead. Debt has a way of growing exponentially (largely because the credit card industry got a free pass from usury laws). Most hardworking people can never get ahead when they're saddled with suffocating debt. My job is to free them from that debt, so they can concentrate on building a new life of financial security. I get real pleasure out of erasing people's debt.
