I recently hired J&R Energy Construction Inc. for my solar installation project in San Jose, CA. The installation included 20 large (460W) solar panels, a Tesla Powerwall 3 with backup switch, and all conduits and racks mounted on a cement tile roof 2 story home. The experience was excellent from start to finish.If youre looking to add solar and battery backup to your home whether you plan to manage the project yourself or hire a company to handle everything look no further. J&R Energy Construction Inc. would be an outstanding partner at every step.Let me tell you my story: After meeting with several large and small solar companies, I discovered that about 90% of them are simply middlemen who resell your project to installers while trying to upsell unnecessary equipment or services. Once I realized I could purchase the same system myself, apply for the city permit, and coordinate the PG&E interconnection, I saw I could save nearly 50% of the total cost. I just needed clear guidance and professional installers and even as an engineer, navigating the solar world can be confusing.Buying the equipment was easy, but finding licensed, reliable installers was the real challenge. Most well-known companies refused to work with materials purchased elsewhere and quoted 50200% higher prices for the same job. After weeks of searching, Teslas official installer list led me to J&R Energy Construction Inc.From the very first call, Joel (the owner and CEO) was professional, knowledgeable and said he could help. Despite being extremely busy near the end of the year, he offered to schedule my project over a weekend. He provided clear instructions, all professional licenses and paperwork, and guided me through the entire process. The cost was very reasonable about one-third of what some other companies quoted.Joel and his crew arrived early on Saturday and worked efficiently throughout the day. They carried and installed 20 large panels on my two-story roof, mounted the Powerwall 3 with the backup switch, ran all electrical conduits, and completed the roof and electrical connections with precision. They even provided extra brackets, wire, and hardware that I had missed to buy.After the bracket inspection, Joels team promptly returned to connect the Tesla battery system and commissioned the Powerwall 3 allowing me to begin generating electricity that same day.The teams professionalism went above and beyond expectations. They even repaired several cracked roof tiles unrelated to the solar installation, cleaned the entire job site spotless, sealed all mounting holes, and ensured labels and signs were perfectly in place for inspection. The city inspector was so impressed with the quality and perfect labeling that the final sign-off took only 15 minutes, because everything was done just right.I highly recommend Joel and J&R Energy Construction Inc. for any solar installation or other work. They are efficient, honest, and deliver top-quality workmanship. Im truly satisfied a five-star experience all around!
