Ok, so I am a seriously anal human being when it comes to finding the right service provider at the right price. I interviewed — and I kid you not — eight different Bay Area contractors just to get a feel for pricing, transparency, and overall vibe. OT Bay stood out immediately. Ron, our project manager, has been consistently honest, kind, and communicative from day one. There was no pressure or vague answers — just clear explanations and realistic expectations. That alone made a big difference for me. We hired OT Bay to demolish and remodel our kitchen countertops, fireplace, and shower. The process was organized, the crew was professional and respectful of our home, and the work turned out beautifully. They showed up when they said they would and followed through on what was discussed. We did run into a few design issues along the way — completely on us — and OT Bay was incredibly accommodating. Instead of making it stressful or transactional, they were understanding and proactive in helping us adjust the plan. Ron would often say that he wanted us to walk away loving the finished work, and I genuinely feel like he meant that. He worked with us to make sure we were happy with the outcome. I’m always cautious about getting taken advantage of with service providers, especially when pricing isn’t rigidly set. My husband and I wanted to remodel and change the ensuite bathroom and bedroom layout. I met with 3 different contractors from Thumbtack. The 3 quotes were similar in cost but OT Bay Builder suggested the best design that also made the permit application faster because we didn't have to remove a load-bearing wall. OT Bay Builder also had an in-house engineer (working on the permit) and a designer, making it easier to work with the whole team. The team, from the project manager to the designer, to the crew is very responsive (within their working hours). They also went above and beyond from time to time to make the project easier for us by handling some unforeseen issues. We are very happy with the work quality. Seeing that they did a good job, we added a contract to add a kitchen island and toe kick light in the kitchen. Again, very happy with the result.
