I can’t say enough good things about working with Jacob at Local Forge. He built the Kingdom Forge website for us using Shopify, and we are extremely happy with how everything turned out.
From the beginning, I had a pretty specific vision of what I wanted Kingdom Forge to look and feel like, and I’ll be the first to admit that I changed things and added ideas along the way. Jacob was incredibly patient through all of it. He listened to what I was asking for, made the changes we needed, and really worked with us until everything felt right.
What I appreciated most was that I never felt like he was just trying to get the website finished and move on to the next project. He actually cared about getting it right. Communication was great, he was easy to work with, and whenever something needed to be adjusted, he took care of it.
The Shopify site came out clean, professional, easy to navigate, and really represents what we’re trying to build with Kingdom Forge. Seeing everything finally come together—the journals, apparel, our story, and the community side of the brand—was pretty awesome.
If you’re looking for someone to build your website, especially a Shopify store, I would absolutely recommend Jacob and Local Forge. We provide a clear, fixed price based on the project scope with no surprise fees or open-ended hourly billing. Before you commit, we create three free website concepts so you can see some different approaches for what we would suggest building. Ongoing maintenance is optional.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start by learning about your business, customers, current website, and goals. We then research your market and create three different homepage concepts. Once you choose a direction, we build the full mobile-friendly website, incorporate your content, make revisions, and handle the launch.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have more than 20 years of experience building and leading digital products and customer-facing online experiences. My background includes product strategy, user experience, conversion optimization, content organization, and working directly with design and engineering teams.
