- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was a veterinary student in Uruguay, and local colleagues who organized meetings and conferences with foreign speakers would ask me to interpret for them since I knew English and mos importantly because of my knowledge of medical vocabulary.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Simultaneous interpreting at medical conferences, and doctor to patient interpretations. I also do a lot of document translating.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I interpreted for 4 days at an international veterinary conference in Colonia, Uruguay. It included simultaneous interpretations during the lectures, and also interpretations of a DVD of the proceedings for the conference.
