Melissa is my hero!! She managed to capture the perfect family photos for our holiday card this year. It was no small feat with three crazy dogs, but she’s got the mojo! Melissa is just lovely to work with, and we were thrilled with the pics she shot for us and will absolutely work with her again!

I don't even know where to begin. Melissa was FANTASTIC! I joked with her that she was the best decision I made for my wedding day aside from marrying my husband. She was a pleasure to talk to leading up to the event to help plan out the day. She went straight to work and was not disruptive at all, if anything she made our day more enjoyable. Such a positive spirit to be around, everyone in my family loved her presence. She wasn't pushy and let us do our own thing but gave us input and advice on where and how to pose. She gave me my photos faster than I could even process my wedding day! I AM OBSESSED with my pictures. They look ethereal because of her special touch with lighting and glow. If you're looking for a photographer for any event, you can stop looking and hire Melissa now!

When I first reached out to Melissa, I was planning out a surprise engagement to be done outside during night. Being new to Thumbtack, I was unsure how the process went and what to expect but Melissa not only helped me understand the process but also what to expect from the shooting in low light. She suggested using the golden hour instead, both in terms of ease and cost. After some additional research, I found she was correct and it should result in better photos. My initial conversation with her helped clear up my concerns and what to expect with a photographer, it served as a brilliant groundwork moving forward. Not wanting to simply go with the first option option I had seen, I did reach out to a few other photographers for input and was able to use the insight gained from Melissa to have knowledgeable conversations. Others seemed capable as well, but I found that all the smaller suggestions Melissa made me confident of her capabilities. Her ideas on building out scenes using pillows/blankets at the airbnb or objects I should purchase beforehand to use as props helped bring the photos together but come off as natural. Ultimately, these suggestions, the helpful information, and her portfolio of work pushed me to choose her. The shoot itself was lovely, and she was willing to help setup some of the environment before my significant other and I arrived. Once we arrived, we used the golden hour light to do plenty of beautiful shots. She was kind and patient, we never felt uncomfortable with her. She helped guide us though different locations on the airbnb property, including poses and expressions. I was happy to have a professional guide us though the process. After the shoot was done, Melissa did provide us with a few quick images to share with family. She also was able to process the whole series of images faster then I had expected, it was great to have them so quickly. We were happy to have the whole collection and I know we'll look back at them for decades to come.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing includes all of your high resolution images (edited) delivered via an online gallery for full viewing and downloads to print and share as you wish. I am open to discuss pricing and discounts for each booking.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My typical process is to have a phone, text or email conversation with a new client to make sure we are all on the same page in regards to the objective and desires of the photo session, event, wedding, engagement, etc. I believe in communication and inspiration. I also love to put together inspiration and collage boards to help direct and assist with the flow of the session.
