FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Simple, I charge: $20/hr for furniture assembly. $25/hr for most other handyman services.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually call the customer to introduce myself & make an appointment to either give an estimate on a particular repair or time required to assemble a given furniture piece. On repairs, I don't like to go in blind. It's rare that I come across a repair job that is out of my skillset, but it happens once in a great while. When it does I'm completely honest about it and recommend other avenues for success. I don't like to leave a customer "hanging", but sometimes the problem goes deeper than they or I knew. I refuse to perform work on a problem that I don't have the skill to repair satisfactorily.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I spent the last 40 years working many different jobs. They varied from working for high tech corporations, to a subway car refurbisher, to working in a chemical plant, to working for a major city's water department, to being a firefighter, to detailing automobiles, and many many more jobs. But, the one constant has always been building, installing, repairing, or maintaining items around the office, business, work site, or home.
