Kitchen Remodel

In early August I moved to a 650 square foot one bedroom condo located in the Peninsula Place Condominiums. The unit needed significant work in that it contained the original bathroom vanity, kitchen countertops and cabinets from the 70's when the units were constructed. My agent referred me to Gadi Construction after finding them on Thumback. I met Yotam, project manager and immediately felt comfortable with him. He was honest, forthright and was very careful explaining step by step what Gadi would do. He also outlined how I would pay for the project; nominal deposit first followed by incremental payments. I retained Gadi to replace my bathroom vanity, install my new toilet, medicine cabinet and vanity lights. There work is outstanding and they are fast. It took them a day to complete this phase. I then hired Gadi to install my new kitchen countertop, backsplash, faucet and disposal. Yotam accompanied me to the countertop store where we picked up all the parts. It was convenient because we picked up everything at once plus I was able to physically pick and choose what I wanted. In all it took two days for Gadi to replace my countertop, install the new faucet, install the new disposal and backsplash in back of the range. The work is outstanding and you can see how much time is placed in the little details. Throughout this time I spoke with Yotam at the minimum of once a day. He is very good about keeping clients apprised as to how their job is progressing. He is also extremely personable and easy to talk to. I would not hesitate to recommend Gadi Construction in the future. For all the attention to detail and the quality work you get their rates are competitive and reasonable.

Countertop Installation

I contacted GADI after reaching out to ~10 places for a quote on quartz countertops in my San Francisco condo. Several of the places I called either did not respond or became non-responsive after I started asking questions. Others showed up ill-prepared, or without a mask 🤦‍♀️, or submitted a quote in the form of a text with no scope outlined 🙄 This job had some quirks, which I wanted to make sure that potential contractors understood before accepting the job - due to an old elevator, they would need to bring the slabs up the stairs, my HOA required to be listed on the contractor’s insurance, the slabs had to be prefabricated off-site, and there is no parking in front of the building. Of course, on top of this, I wanted it done well and quickly. Other contractors seemed so informal that I doubted whether they would follow through with what they said they would, some even had a backlog that meant my job couldn’t start for 2+ months (but they wanted the deposit immediately). This is when I came across GADI on thumbtack. I did a little research and decided to reach out to them based on the positive reviews I read. Inon texted me right away in response and set up time for a call the same day to discuss the job. On that call, we set an appointment for a site visit the next day. On the day of my appointment, Nadav (one of their project managers) showed up. He was punctual and stayed probably an hour talking about all the details of the job from plumbing to where I wanted the seams. At the end, he wrote out an estimate which included a statement of work. Later that evening, he sent me an official typed estimate on company letterhead which laid out full scope, cost, and when payments were due (deposit, project open, project close). Though their bid was higher than many I had received, this interaction gave me confidence that #1 - they understood exactly what I needed #2 - they would follow through. Next was scheduling the job and choosing materials. Nadav was able to set things up for the following week, and even came and picked me up to go choose materials (the vendor was in Hayward and I don’t drive). We chose materials on Monday and his team picked them up that afternoon. They were out the next day to demo my old countertop and take a template for the new (this only took like 30 minutes...seriously). They came back on Wednesday morning & as they were unloading the pre-fabricated counters, I noticed that they were cut incorrectly. I called Nadav & he said no worries, we’re going to fix it and make sure it’s installed exactly as discussed - don’t worry. So they left for the day and came back Friday to finish the job. When they showed up on Friday, they had re-cut the materials and it took about 3 hours to install. About an hour after the countertop installers left, the plumber stopped in and reconnected all the plumbing. So, I confirmed that I wanted them to do the job Sunday evening, chose materials Monday, demo’d Tues, would have installed Wed if there hadn’t been an issue, but still had the job completely wrapped by Friday afternoon. Nadav stayed in touch the whole time and was on-site every day that his subcontractors were to check in on what was going on. I’m very pleased with the result & would definitely hire them again. I want to make sure and call out that this job was won by Nadav’s level of customer service and professionalism. Not sure if that’s what can be expected across the board at GADI, but if so, then you can’t go wrong hiring them.

Countertop Installation

GADI did great work on my kitchen "facelift" project. I just recently purchased a home and was looking for a quick kitchen update to improve the durability and cleanliness of the food prep space. The house had mismatched Formica counters and plastic sheeting backsplash that was filthy and breaking down pretty badly. GADI’s team was super easy to work with, very responsive and answered my questions with confidence. My project manager was clear about cost, timing and expenses and even provided easy to understand contracts. He was very hands on and assisted me in making smart choices for the building materials, and appliance selection. The whole project took 3 days and was 100% on time and on budget. He coordinated the countertop, electrician, plumber and tile installer so there was no wasted downtime. The team wore masks and cleaned up at the end of every workday, they were extremely respectful of my family living in the home. Even when the faucet I purchased had a manufacturers defect and needed to be returned, he brought me another faucet to use in the time when the replacement was being shipped. They came out and swapped in the replacement within 24 hours of it being delivered. The team was very trustworthy and skilled at their work. On a side note, when talking to them about some larger projects I need to do to the home they were very knowledgeable about the local codes and requirements for updating older homes. They explained the permitting process for these major projects and how the inspections are meant to protect the homeowner. The previous contractor(s) I was working with were always trying to sell me on not using a permit, and I ended up with crappy half done work. Working with GADI was like a sigh of relief, I will definitely be using their service again.

Kitchen Remodel

Yotam and and his team were incredible. We got our old kitchen remodeled to adding new countertops, back-splash, sink replacement, new appliances and a new bar fridge. Yotam actively participates(with patience) in shopping the material,, discussing ideas, options etc. He found an ideal space for our new bar fridge, elevating the look overall. The work was done ON-TIME as promised, and it came out excellent. Enjoyed the partnership.
