Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: My work stands out from others who do what I do, because it is my passion in life. Since the age of 16 I have worked with animals and when I purchased my first puppy, I became interested in grooming. I was able to attend grooming school and then apprentice at one of the best local pet shops in the state where I fine tuned my skills. I was also able to compete and earn a few awards in the process. Today I still continue to attend seminars as well educate my customers or future customers at various events. Grooming isn't just about making dogs look cute, it's about making sure they are healthy and finding things others don't since you handle them on a regular basis. I love everything about my job. I love hooking up my trailer and driving to my customers house. I love when the dog comes running out to greet me. But most of all I love being able to take my knowledge & patience with grooming, and give them a great experience. Some animals are easier than others, but when you have a regular client and they go from being super shy or hyper to perfectly behaved and totally trust you, my job is 100% worth it.

FAQs

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

It's important to shop around, especially if you have never used a professional groomer, or mobile groomer. Every business has different procedures, prices & services. You want to make sure the person you entrust to groom your pet has experience, can handle the situation safely, and will provide you with a positive result. Find out how much they charge, and ask them to explain the breakdown of time, or condition of the pet's coat, etc. There is a big fluctuation in price. so make sure you are getting a lot for your money. Also, it's good to find out what kinds of products they use to make sure it is something you approve of or your pet won't be allergic to. I'd also ask about their cleaning procedures, certifications, etc just to make sure everything is professional and current.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

I wish my customers or potential customers realized how important it is to take care of their dog's grooming needs on a regular basis (certain cats too). Animals have always been my passion in life, and grooming is a huge part of keeping your pets healthy. Along with regular exercise, proper diet & veterinary care, grooming completes your pet's health routine.
