- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We are not like other firms that try to scam you into a monthly subscription you probably don't need. Instead we we work by the hour and you only pay for services you want and need. Rates start at $125 per hour depending on the type of service we are providing and your business size. We do offer fixed pricing for business tax returns based on your company's revenue (please see website for details).
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
There is no typical process because our service offering is so broad. We offer 1/2 hour free consultations to answer any questions and see if we are a good fit.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We are a 3 person firm, so here's a brief description of each of our backgrounds: Virginia Hamilton (AKA "Cimmer") is a CPA (CA License #70422) and graduated from UC Davis in Economics with post baccalaureate work in Accounting at San Jose State. She did her Public Accounting training at PwC in San Jose (a "Big 4 accounting firm). She has been a CPA since 1996 and has worked with all kinds of Silicon Valley companies, from small service organizations to multi billion dollar publicly traded companies. She enjoys working with small companies and new entrepreneurs because of the immediate and dramatic results she can achieve. Ben Dubin Ben has an MBA from Harvard University and BS degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan. Ben is the founder of Health Gap Ventures, a venture capital fund focusing on disruptive digital health solutions to improve health inequities in health care. Before Health Gap Ventures, Ben spent 15 years at Asset Management Ventures as a Partner, where he managed their early-stage Information Technology & Life Sciences Funds. Ben rounds out the JumpStart Team by providing start-up consulting with dynamic thinking on business structure, capital raising, networking, risk-taking, strategy, and growth marketing. Lilia Pagulayan is an IRS Enrolled Agent (License #131575) with over 8 years of experience preparing taxes for both businesses and individuals. Lilia has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Polytechnic University of the Philippines and is currently enrolled in a Masters program in Business Administration. Lilia is dedicated, diligent, detail oriented and deadline driven! Lilia's focus is at JumpStart CPAs is *only* on tax as that is her passion and area of expertise.
