Introduction: I'm "Old School". My experience comes from over 10 years as a professional actor in England having studied 'voice' with some of Europe's finest teachers including Kate Flemming, Voice Director National Theatre and having been awarded an Arts Council Scholarship to study with Florence Norburg (teacher to Sir Laurence Olivier, Vanessa Redgrave as well as Kiri Te Kanawa). I also have over 30 years experience as a senior teacher/ teacher trainer of The Alexander Technique which addresses ease in movement, expression and performance. Working with the many different types of people who show up at my Sausalito studio. I've worked with tv and radio personalities who have their own shows helping them develop their presentation skills, people with vocal challenges, business executives needing to improve their communication skills, actors wanting to develop technique and people of all ages, cultures and life experience.

John is fun to work with- his training works! I sought John's help because I was suffering from hoarseness that dramatically compromised my everyday speaking. The hoarseness was partly due to an asthma medication I was using. John taught me methods to work with my tensions and limitations that gave me ease in using my voice. Ultimately I learned better coordination of my whole self enabling me to stop using the medication. John brings a remarkable depth of knowledge and practical experience to his teaching. It is a pleasure to work with him.

My price for a 50 minute session is $100.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
To meet, observe, listen and determine what the client's objectives are. Then to begin practical work ASAP. Change and confidence comes via experience. Advice, data and information alone are not enough.

Qualified teacher of The Alexander Technique London (STAT/ AmSAT). Director of AEC in Berkeley CA. Winner of Arts Council Scholarship UK for Voice.
