Introduction: My work is unique in that I can mimic just about any style wanted. I spent time in India, Egypt and Tunisia and learned the differing styles that each culture highlights. Mostly though I feel that henna is my bridge-builder and I am focused on using it in ritual. I love doing Bar/Bat Mitzvahs for this reason and have even been asked to do funeral henna on people and animals. It's being there for a celebration or for a sacred event, holding the hands, feeling the intensity and without words finding the right patterns and designs to manifest something truly magical... and watch it fade. Everything! I love everything about this job ~ mostly I love the ability to meet people as real human beings. The level of trust needed is very difficult to bridge, and I love being someone that people trust with body-art and their sacred moments. It's the most fulfilling of all the art I have worked with and have had a long life as an artist in many mediums... I choose henna, in the end.

Hayet's henna art is beautifully intricate and unique. She works swiftly and intuitively with each person...I have always been super happy with the designs she has created on my skin with her homemade naturally fragrant henna formula!

Hayet is lovely to work with. Her steady hand never ceases to amaze me, even despite the shaky canvas of the body she so artfully adorns with her delightfully smelling henna. I highly recommend visiting Hayet for any occasion, whether that be for everyday decoration, or for a special occasion where a little extra love is needed to overflow and bring joy to the occasion.

My Experience was beyond terrible. I traveled with a group of my girlfriends and family members to northern california to have a traditional indian henna for my wedding. I had planned the event with Hayet many months before the scheduled date. I paid her a deposit of $100. She never showed up-she never returned my multiple phone calls-and she only emailed late that evening after everyone had left the party. Her response was that she forgot. Though she was apologetic-she has yet to refund me the $100 deposit I gave her or respond to my multiple emails I have sent her to receive my deposit back. I was seriously heartbroken that she did not show up-this was something I had waited months to get for my wedding with my bridal party all in attendance. All of us, waiting in our wedding saree's for hours without any response. I doubt these other reviews are real or verified-I would be more than happy to give more feedback to anyone who is even considering this vendor.

Greetings Maya... When someone takes the time to schedule with me, they usually provide me with time/date and LOCATION. To this day, I have no idea what city I was expected to be present in and there are many in the Bay Area. Perhaps it was an oversight, however, it is impossible for me to divine a location. I never once stated I "forgot", what I did say was that you had neglected to inform me of your location. I would hope you would peruse your files/emails as well and note that this is in fact the case/point. I am very sorry for your experience, truly. I would only ask that you consider it your responsibility to inform any artist of where they are 'to be'. I did hold the date for you, nothing was forgotten, I simply had no idea where to go. Thank you for your comprehension in this delicate matter.
